For an unforgettable and soul-satisfying experience of the essence of Nova Scotia coastal life, join Eben Fry for a three hour immersion in life by the open Atlantic.

indian harbour

Leaving Oceanstone on bicycles (provided), you will pass through the little fishing village of Indian Harbour, where hardy fisher folk, at great personal cost, have wrested their living from the sea for the last 300 years.

peggy's light
Passing through the uninhabited and mystical Peggy's Cove Preservation area, you will pass by the famed Peggy's Cove Light, while in the background, thunderous white-capped waves hurl themselves in vain, as they have for eons, against the unyielding granite coast.

bog orchid

Arriving at Polly's Cove, you will note the surreal landscape: scattered boulders perched here and there as if randomly tossed: tiny unexpected flowers blooming in unlikely places...

Now you park the bikes and, with Eben as your guide, you hike along the rugged coast, exploring the hills, valleys and inlets, unfolding some of the most equisite vistas Nova Scotia has to offer.

Far from the madding crowds, you will probably have the place to yourself, and you can hike the shore for a couple of kilometers in either direction, unfolding even more panoramas, all of them a photographer's dream. (wide angle and closeup lenses a must!)

rock precariousEben, who knows every crack and crevice, will be pleased to outline the many possibilities, along with a few of his own secret scenic spots.

Cost is $75 per person, including bicycle and a gourmet lunch, water, etc.
